Unhappy Engine Failure, Deadstick landing on my first night solo!!!!!!

Well this is another good story I thought I would share with you all. I entered this story in a contest while I was a student pilot and won. The contest was on studentpilot.com and they own the rights to the story now so I'll post a link. There are a lot of stories on there now but back when I won there were only a couple. This was THE deciding moment for me to jump full swing into aviation as a career. After this happened I could see the fear in my dad's eye that I might give up on flying. This is every pilot’s worst nightmare but for me it was a moment that proved to me I had the right stuff to make it. If I could make fast decisions, resort back to my training, save myself as well as the airplane at my experience level as a student pilot, I could do anything. My very next flight was a repeat of this one. I got back up on the horse and completed another night solo. After reading my story I encourage all of you to make a post and share your defining moment in aviation. The moment you knew you wanted to fly, a moment you excelled in, and so on. Please take a minute to share a story with all of us.

The link to my story.

Thank you,

Clint

Yeah it is. It wasn't until I was on the ground and clear of the runway before it hit me as to what had happened. That's also when I started to shake uncontrollably. Just another example of why they call me the "Black Cloud".
