Hi everyone,
My wife and I are headed out for about 2 weeks to tool around France and Spain and attend a good friend's wedding. Please continue to use this online forum to ask any questions that you have. I'll be checking in from time to time, and the other coaches will chime in as well when they can to help out. Take care, fly safe (if applicable right now ), and keep learning everything you can about aviation training and the airlines so you can make the most informed decision possible about your future.

Back from the trip. Thanks for everyone's patience. Internet access wasn't as simple as I was expecting so I wasn't as in-touch as I expected to be able to be. Free-wifi isn't exactly as ubiquitous as I expected it to be in parts of Europe and at the little B&B type lodgings that say they have wifi, but tend to only have it in a spotty 10sq ft area in by the front door!
In a nutshell, my wife and I flew non-revenue out to Paris for a few great days of food and sights, then flew down to Barcelona to stay on the beach briefly, grab a car, check out the local area and then head north for some sights and seaside towns up the Spanish/French Riviera, then caught 2 stages of the Tour de France, drove through the Pyrenees, stopped over in the "micro-country" of Andorra, and finally on to a good friend's wedding in a small city north of Barcelona, then flew back home. I'm surprised I'm not 5 belt notches wider right now from all the wine, cheese, seafood, and everything else!! No question, the most amazing trip I've ever taken, and, as long as you do your homework on good flights (for space-available travel) and backup plans, it can be done for a pretty modest sum due to the huge savings in flight costs - A few hundred dollars total in taxes and inter-airline agreement ticket fees for both of us. I definitely need to make this a much more frequent way to recharge my batteries! I will get to everyone's posts asap and have responses to everyone by today and tomorrow morning. |
