Passed my CFI oral on Monday, but the corresponding MEI checkride is on hold until the 29th due to weather and holiday. Just checking to report in and wish you and your family a very happy holiday season.

Great work, my friend! It's great to hear you have your oral passed for the CFI. At least that part of it is 'off your chest' for the holiday

Slight bummer that you couldn't finish the ride as well before the holiday, but ATP will definitely get you through it! Where are you going to spend Christmas? Back here on the West coast, it's incredibly windy, cold, and snowy tonight!

Hey John,

I am new at this and have just a few general questions that you can probably answer. I am concerned mostly with how I will be relocated once I have completed my training. Furthermore, what are your suggestions on what path to take to get where I eventually would like to be, which is back close to Memphis or Nashville.
How do pilots get paid as well? Is there an hourly rate or a fixed monthly base? Is this different with Regional and National airlines?

You raised some great questions.....can you do me a favor and re-post your question as a new conversation?

Here is how you do it... Go into my 'master forum' and click on the tab to post a new thread. If you post your thread 'inside' another thread started by a fellow student, then your thread never gets titled. So, your questions are under the general title of "CFI Initial" posted by Chris.

You have some great questions so I'd like other to be able to benefit from seeing your questions and the answers I provide. So, maybe you could title your post something like "questions about being a pilot" or "Questions about living situation"....something along those lines.

Is that ok with you? I don't want to avoid answering your questions....I just want to make sure others benefit from your thoughtful questions.
