Hi Roger, my name is Tim. Im 17, until may, and i have always loved flying.
I'm homeschooled, and taking a EMT class at Wake Tech. I'm very interrested in avation, and piloting. Im right now trying to find a school in NC that would suit me best. Also just wondering what the requirements are to become a pilot. Thanks alot, Tim |

Tim,
Sorry about the slow response time. I got caught up in all the weather and superbowl flying mayhem. Seems that the company cant figure out why the number of sick calls go up when the superbowl is playing hahaha. Well, I will be more than willing to help you avoid some of the pit falls I found when I was first starting out. There are always pros and cons to every situation, we just need to make sure that you find a school where the pros and cons are right for you. As far as what the requirements are to become a pilot, the FAR federal aviation regulations (61.19, and 61.83 thru 61.95) state that a student pilot must be at least 16 years of age, be able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language. Then to become a private pilot FAR (61.102 thru 61.61 and 61.117 Appendix B to Part 141) state that a private pilot must be at least 17 years of age, be able to read, speak, write and understand the English language. Pass the written, oral, and flight test. The pilot must have received and logged at least 40 hours of flight time (This 40 hours is broken down further but you will learn these requirements really well before you pass this part). This is the requirements by the book, however if this is not exactly what you meant, please let me know. Roger
