My name is Javier Reyes. I am 32 years old. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. I fell in love with flying at 4 years old, when I saw the Blue Angles flying over San Juan. I moved to Naples, FL after high school, and started training in Ambassador Airways Flight School. I worked in the flight school for a couple of years. I decided to join the Army after I was laid off due to the flight school business struggle. I have served the Army for 6 years. I am currently a crew-chief for the AH-64D Longbow. I have been in OIF I, and II, and now I am serving in OEF, stationed in Bagram AF, Afghanistan. Being a crew-chief I once had the pleasure to fly in the front seat of an Apache, and actually take control of the aircraft. That was an awesome ride!!!!
I am planning to attend ATP after my ETS date, which is January 31, 2010. My goal is to successfuly complete ATP training and become a professional pilot.

Javier, that is awesome. The closest I ever got to the Apache was about 50 ft as it passed over my tank. The choppers always loggerhead quite a ways away from our tanks, guess you guys didn’t like to slum around with us track heads.
If you’re planning on changing careers at the beginning of the year, it still leaves you plenty of time to get yourself ready. I would not only recommend that you start saving as much money as you can but also start hitting those books. You should have at least all the written exams complete before you start. Ask me as many questions about flight school and the airlines as you can think of, you know what they say the only stupid question is the question you didn’t ask. Enjoy the high desert.
