Hi Bob,

Since finding out about ATP and being in the forum for a couple months now and doing a lot of research of all the different flight schools, I have made a decision to pursue ATP. Again, I'm a reservist that's been activated and I should be back stateside by the end of 2008 so the first thing I'll be doing is getting my flight physical along with sending in my deposit. My wife, daughter and I are looking at relocating to Jacksonville, FL and I will want to attend their. I'm looking at taking the Private Pilot Program followed by the Fast Track. That being said, with housing included with both the Private Pilot Program and the Fast Track Program, will my family be able to move in with me? Thanks for your time.

It sounds like you've had a lot to consider... I hope the best for you and your family during the move to Jacksonville.

That said... the housing that is included with the program is for 1 twin bed only in a fully furnished two or three bedroom apartment. So you will typically have 3 or 5 other room-mates (two beds per room). Unfortunately... there is no family allowed to stay in the provided housing.

I lived only a few miles from the airport where I did my training (GKY)... and I opted for the free housing even though I had my wife and daughter right down the road (especially since you don't get a credit for not using the provided housing). I did go home 95% of the time... but it was nice having the option to crash in the apartments after a night cross country that ended at 3am... and it was a great place to hang out and study with other folks going through the program. So, take that into consideration as well.
