Good day Bob, just thought I would drop you a line and let you know, I paid my down payment and I start my training Nov 3rd. I'm working on my book tests now and i'm going to try and have them out of the way before I start. So, hows life for you going right now? No furloughs I hope! Drop me a line when you get a chance. Take care and I will talk to you soon. Just an FYI if you ever get through MCI give me a ring and we can have lunch or dinner some time.

Hi Jason!
Awesome news! I know the anticipation you are feeling right now... I remember when I finally made the jump and decided to change careers. I was in a similar position as you (mid-level management) and I'm here to tell you... I'll never go back to that type of work (if I can help it). ![]() Great job on working toward getting the writtens done... that will free up a lot of extra time for you and give you a nice little foundation for the practical stuff you'll be learning at the advanced pace of ATP. As far as furloughs go... believe it or not, we find out today. Probably after 5pm CST. I won't be furloughed since I have relatively good seniority, and I will be keeping my 4th stripe as well. But... I have no idea where I'll be based yet... and whether or not I'll hold a line (normal schedule) or be on reserve (on-call). I'll try to keep you updated. As far as MCI... I'll take you up on that. But... just to let you know I only live 5 minutes from GKY (the DFW ATP location)... so if you are still going to that location then we may be able to hook up sometime during your program. Keep us updated on your writtens! Remember too, that you can take the tests locally at any Lasergrade or CATS testing center prior to the program. Just keep the receipts and they will be reimbursed by ATP. ![]() Bob

Thanks Bob! I'll keep you informed of my progress on my writtens. Give me a call when you know you will be in the MCI area and its my treat for a good dinner. I'll also hook up with you when I get to Arlington as well. Take care and I'll be praying that you keep your line and nothing changes in a negative way for ya. JM

Congrats on the decision Jason! Get as many tests done as you can before you start training. It helps SO much. Are you doing just the 90 day or the Private as well? Either way, look me up when you get here and I'll help you out any way I can.
Cheers, Jeremy |

Jeremy, will you be there then? I'm not doing the private, I have mine as well as about 550 hrs as of now. My goal is to have about 700 by the time I get to ATP. Are you an instructor? Talk to you soon. JM

Hi Jason,
Wow that is alot of hours! With that much experience your time may be better served getting the writtens done and studying the Seminole supplement inside and out. Yes I am an instructor here at GKY now. It's an old habit to hang out on Bobs' forum and try to help. Look forward to meeting you! Cheers, Jeremy |

Cool, so you will be my CFI? I like to have fun when I fly. Myself i'm lucky my uncle owns a G36 Bonanza and lets me fly it all the time if I buy the fuel. He wont let me use it to train in though. He said his insurance would go up way high if he did. I will be in Dallas that Sunday before I start, I will be glad to take you out for dinner and talk a little if thats ok. My treat! How many students are in Arlington now? Is there ever a problem getting a plane to fly? Thats the issue here at my local FBO. Message me back.

The Bonanza is a sweet looking plane. All that complex single time will help you master the Seminole pretty quick I bet.
Unfortunately I probably won't be your instructor, at least in the beginning. We have Career Program and Add-on instructors. I am the latter meaning I generally work with students who come to us for short programs. Also though, I do work on the commercial tickets and instructor add-ons as well. That means we should get to fly together at some point. Regardless, I am always happy to help anyone out if they need it. The planes are pretty busy here, but there has never been an issue, that I have seen yet, getting a plane when you and your instructor need one. It would be hard for me to gauge student count right now. It changes quite often. Besides the 90-day, this location has a CFI school, private program, and the afore-mentioned add-ons as well. I'll probably be around when you stop in that Sunday just ask for me and we can have lunch or something if you want(no need to be your treat). Cheers, Jeremy |

Jeremy,
I made a few changes... Gave you a new custom ATP DJet Avatar, changed your user title, and opened up the other forums to you. I meant to do that earlier... but forgot. Enjoy... and thanks again for all your participation in my forum! Fly Safe! Bob
