Default Introduction

Hey Bob,

Greeting from Sunny So Cal. My name is Mike and I have 554 hours so far with my ppl. I had dreams of flying as long as I remember. My dad would take me to every air show on the west coast. Heck, I even got $20 bucks from him back in the 80's and went for a ride in a old Stearman Bi-plane. What a ride! I have been hooked ever since. I got my ppl and decided to become a Professional Pilot.........then disaster struck. I went to ATP was ready to start and 9/11 hit. I was faced with a tough decision......train with a lot of pilots being furlonged and the industry looking very weak at the time. Well, I headed off into real estate. I did pretty well in that line of work. I bought a RV-4 and flew the heck out of that little plane. I have since left real estate once the market turned south and sold my plane. Now I can't help thinking that I need to be up in the sky, flying. I guess you can say it is my passion in life and to get paid to fly........whoa! I am 33 and realize that I need to get going with aviation career pretty soon. I read a lot of the forums and taken careful consideration of my next move. I have just getting trying to get the financing inline for ATP. Once that is taken care of I will be on my way.

Cheers,

Mike

Michael,

I know we've already been chatting... but I just wanted to chime in and thank you for taking the time to introduce yourself.

That Stearman ride would have hooked anybody! Awesome story!

9/11 changed a lot of people's lives... no doubt. It sounds like the turn you took was for the better at that time in your life. Flying the RV had to be a nice side benefit as well.

As far as your age... I was 33 when I started my accelerated flight training as well. So trust me... you aren't too old at all!

Keep in touch and let me know how you are progressing.

Thanks Mike,

Bob
