Hello Ashok. Here is a breakdown of the licenses that you need to have to be a commercial pilot:

Private pilot license: Means you can only fly in good weather. Never in the clouds and can never fly an airplane when someone is paying you to.

Instrument license: Means you can now fly in any kind of weather using the reference to your airplanes instruments for navigation and airplane control instead of objects outside like the horizon and/or coastline etc. In the clouds you have no reference to outside visuals. Still you cannot fly for hire.

Multi-engine: You will need this license to fly airplanes that have more than one engine. Getting experience and flight hours in multi engine airplanes is the most valuable kind of flight hours and employers look for this on a resume.

Commercial license: Getting this license now let's you to fly for hire and you can earn money as a pilot. There is a single engine commercial certificate and a multi-eingine one.

Instructor ratings: 3 of them-Single engine, multi-engine and instrument instructor. It is very valuable to become an instructor as that is where you build up flight experience and get paid to fly a an instructor. You usually try to get a job at a regional airline while you are an instructor.

So that is kind of the breakdown of all the licenses you need to become a professional pilot. Many of these are predicated on having enough flight time to qualify in taking the exam/flying test.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Talk to you soon.
