Default Introduction

Hey Jerry, my name is Shane and im currently going to be a senior in high school this upcoming year. Im am a student pilot with over 40 hours and am about to solo. my dream is to become a professional pilot. I am planning on completing my PPL by the time I start college. Im not sure if you will know the answer to this but ill ask anyway. When I went to take my medical exam everything was fine except when it came time to take the color vision test using the plates in the book. I didn't pass. I am able to see colors and different colored lights including the red and green nav lights and the airport tower light guns. I heard that there are other tests out their that i can take that will wave my restriction. Is that true?

Thanks for your time!
Shane

There are tests that you can complete in order to gain a 'restriction' on your medical. Talk to your local FAA medical examiner and ask them what would be the best course of action for your situation. Your doctor will know best.
I like your idea of completing your PPL before starting college! What are you planning on majoring in? Where are you attending school?
