Default Pilot Salaries

Hey Dan, how's it going?
I have a question about airline salaries. From everything I have read online, I was under the impression that salaries at major airlines max out around $200k for 20 yr captains depending on the type of aircraft you fly. However, the other night I met a FO for Delta at the bar I work at. He is a second year FO flying a 767, and he claimed he made $80k his first year, $160k his second year. He went on to claim that he has a friend who is a 777 captain at UPS who makes $700k a year. I thought he was full of himself and trying to seem rich and important, but I could be wrong. Any insight would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Jonathan

Hey Jonathan,

Well your understanding is closer to what you can expect. As a 15+ year regional Captain you could expect around $110,000. At a major you could be looking at around $200,000 a year after 15+ years. Fedex and UPS have some of the highest payscales, and your looking at around $250,000 after 15+years. Hope that clears that up for you.

Thanks for clearing that up. I thought the guy was just trying to make himself feel important but I didn't really feel like calling him out on it.
