Default First Solo!

Hey Dan!

I'm going to embark on my first milestone as a pilot. my First Solo!!!! I'm doing it this weekend. I cant believe im doing it just after only flying 5.7 hours. I know im tooting my own horn but still im excited. Can you tell me about your first solo. Even though im at a local airport ill be taking these skills with me to ATP and beyond. How can you relate your first solo to the type of flying you do now.

Hey Dan!

I had my first solo today. It was amazing. I cant believe i flew a plane by myself AAHHH hahaha. and the landings were really great, nice and smooth except the last one lol. It didnt sink in that i was PIC until i ran through the before T/O checklist and made my call (I fly at an uncontrolled airport). I didnt have my instructor to say "Ok we have everything lets go have some fun." It was just silent. But i knew i could do it and when i lifted off I knew it was all me from that point on and when i landed for the first time I knew i wanted to be a pilot for the rest of my life. Im so excited to be were i am today and i will be where you are one day too. Hope all is well.

Hey Dan.

My name is Kyle and I am an aspiring pilot. I was looking at potential schools and ATP caught my eye. Some of my first concerns are about how to pay for school. I already applied for the financial aid and am waiting to hear back. Do you have any information about any grants that you know of? This information would be greatly appreciated.

Its two weeks later and it still feels like yesterday. On the flip side of thigns I wanna say thank you for answering my questions. Its also really motivationg hearing your side of things and seeing that you have goen through everything and seeing that you are still alive and loving every second of the outcomes.

Default Should I become a pilot??

Hey Dan,

CONGRATS TO U MATTHEW!!!!!

OK let me introduce myself.. I'm a young aspiring female pilot ( 19yrs old) and I've been trying to get my private pilots liscense for 7months now.. my best friend who is a guy also started the same time as me and passed his checkride last week... i feel like a total idiot for not having passed my ground session for my checkride and feel like maybe this aviation thing is not cut out for me.. what do i do? i love flying and all the skill involved with flying even though its doesnt seem like i am gettin it... do u think i should just give up now and find another career or should i just stick with it..

another reason y i feel like this isnt the career for me is because i'm mostly afraid of spins and stalls and all that jazz.. i'm more a fan of steep turns and ground reference maneuvers..

Have any ideas?
