Hi there Michael,

First of all... welcome to the forums! I'm glad you found your way here... and I'm happy to help you out any way I can.

If you could... I'd like to ask if you would take a moment and introduce yourself. The more I know about you... the better I could tailor my responses to your individual needs.

As to your question above...

It depends on what each airlines rules are... but they are all very similar. For example... at ExpressJet, you're immediately family get's flight benefits. You're immediate family consists of you, your spouse, your parents (not your spouses), and your children under the age of 18.

Typically you will pay a small fee that basically covers taxes... for us it's @ $15 per person, one way. I know for another major airline that we flew for you only paid a one time fee of @ $50/year and then travel was free for your family for that year.

So... as you can see, either way, it's travel at a very reduced price. However... bear in mind that it is "stand-by" travel. Which means, that your family will only be able to get on the aircraft as long as there is an open seat available.

That kind of flying can be stressful for those who aren't used to it.

You of course will still have the option to jumpseat... there is no charge for that.

Bob
